Haus Obsessed
You never know when or where you are going find gems. I constantly hunt on the internet, in thrift stores and through keeping in contact with great people in the industry. This way when anything good comes available at a good price, I have first dibs on it. Well, imagine my excitement that Apartment Therapy, one of my favorite sites, hooking up with Krrb and putting together a classifieds section for all decor related pieces. As I was perusing the postings, my eyes flew to this victorian settee. I almost got up right then and there and ran to the store, but being 2Pm and stuck to my chair at the office until 6Pm, I decided to put it off till another day. Patience is a virtue, or at least that’s what they tell me. I would take some measurements in my apartment and see what could fit. This set is gorgeous and after seeing it in person, I am in love. Very Phantom of the Opera meets… well… Phantom of the Opera. Not only do they have one trio of sofas, but they have two with differing amounts of extravagant detailing. Check their website for better pictures. The piece is surprisingly cushioned making it more comfortable than I expected, so it would be perfect to replace the usual living room sofa. Or, imagine this ornate piece in a giant closet next to an equally ornate vanity. It would be ideal in a high end showroom or clothing shop, where people could rest in its magnificence and beauty. But if it were mine, I would use an old black steamer trunk as a coffee table, and then stick my baby grand piano right behind it. Add some dripping candles and a couple small animal skulls, and the macabre scene is set. All we need next are the actors to come entertain.
