Three days off at all of my jobs gave me time to do all of the things that I had been missing out on over the last few months. One of the items on my list was the Brooklyn Flea. It is always crammed with antiques, vintage clothes and homemade gear, not to mention amazing food. So Sunday my mind was made up and the Brooklyn Flea was my top priority. One thing with the flea is that it can be quite daunting if you are in a hurry or are a little tired from being out too late the night before. Luckily, I was neither. Just a little hungry, but that could and was cured with a ginger lemon boba tea, a sausage and cabbage plate and a tiny pulled pork sandwich. Then, it was time to conquer the booths. And it took exactly 1 minute before I found this beauty. A giant foot tall coral mounted to a lucite stand for $30. It was just to beautiful to pass up. And with my growing collection of sea creatures mounted to things, this seemed to be too good to be true. Right now it holds court on my piano next to a small cluster of other oddities. My other purchase will come in a later post, but know is was just as good and at two thirds of this price.
