I didn’t really know how I felt about actual department store mannequins until I saw this picture taken in Christian Siriano’s apartment, then I was walking through one of my thrift shop staples after visiting a client’s house and there were two beauties in the corner. I asked the price, but they hadn’t gotten to that yet, and by their response, they probably wouldn’t for a day or two. If I were to purchase these two, I would paint the lighter one a high gloss white and leave the other one in its antique slightly abused state. They look great as a pair and it would probably be best to keep them entertwined in a corner. Use them a place to hang necklaces or scarves or if you want to be unique and get crazy, cover one in glitter. If they were mine I’d take green iridescent beetle wings and cover one completely in perfect rows of these or possibly in mussel shells and channel Alexander McQueen. That would look so haute couture in the corner of any room.
